The Ministry for Tourism and Culture wishes to inform tourism stakeholders, international travel partners and prospective visitors of the precautionary measures announced by the Ministry of Health on 14 October 2026, in response to the evolving Ebola Virus Disease (EVD) outbreak in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). The measures form part of the Government of Seychelles’ efforts to safeguard public health and minimise the risk of the disease being imported into the country.
“The reported expansion of the outbreak into additional areas within the DRC has raised concerns about the risk of further spread and cross-border transmission. The measures announced by the Ministry of Health are intended to protect our small island community as well as the visitors who come to our islands to relax and create lasting memories,” said the Minister for Tourism and Culture, Amanda Bernstein.
Effective from 14 October 2026, the following entry requirements will apply to all travellers with a recent travel history to the DRC:
Foreign Nationals:
Foreign nationals travelling from or having recently travelled to the DRC will only be granted permission to enter Seychelles upon fulfilling the following requirements:
Seychellois Citizens and Residents:
Seychellois citizens and residents arriving from the DRC, or who have been present in the DRC within the previous 21 days, will be subject to mandatory public-health measures. These may include mandatory quarantine at a designated facility or approved location for the remainder of the 21-day incubation period, as determined by the Public Health Authority.

In accordance with the Ministry of Health’s advisory, airlines, travel agents and tour operators are required to inform passengers of these entry requirements prior to travel.
“We encourage tourism operators to rely on official government communications when advising clients and to avoid circulating unverified information that could cause unnecessary concern,” said Minister Bernstein.
The Ministry for Tourism and Culture will continue to work closely with the Ministry of Health and industry partners to ensure the timely dissemination of accurate information. Tourism stakeholders are encouraged to refer all health-related enquiries to the Ministry of Health.
For full details of the applicable measures, travellers and tourism partners should consult the Ministry of Health’s travel advisory issued on 14 October 2026, available at health.gov.sc/
The Ministry for Tourism and Culture remains committed to supporting a responsible and resilient tourism industry while safeguarding the well-being of residents and visitors.
