The 115-island destination was represented on the international media platform for four days at the Arabian Travel Market (ATM) in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, from May 1st to 4th 2023.

The delegation was led by Tourism Seychelles and a group of Seychelles’ tourism professionals comprised of nice private sector companies, including Masons Travel.

RESPONSIBLE HOSPITALITY FOR A BETTER WORLD

On the first day, while speaking on a panel discussion on “responsible hospitality for a better world”, Principal Secretary for Tourism Department, Mrs Francis, shared the destination’s long-term vision on the subject: “As a small destination dependent on tourism, sustainability has a deeper meaning for us as the survival of our nation depends on it and therefore, practicing sustainable tourism remains one of our primary objectives,” she said.

Continuing along the same line during another session under the theme “green technology for responsible tourism” session, Mrs Willemin, the Director General for Destination Marketing, said, “Green technology for responsible tourism means we must be creative and resourceful to reduce our environmental footprint and preserve our cultural heritage.”

Tourism Seychelles and Emirates Airline reaffirm their commitment to the growth of Seychelles’ tourism industry

Tourism Seychelles and Emirates Airline signed their annual Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) during the 2023 ATM, reaffirming their commitment to the growth of Seychelles as a destination; reiterating the airline’s commitment to the 115-island destination and outlining major cooperation projects to increase visibility and sales for the destination.

During the signing ceremony, Mrs Francis stated that Emirates has been wholly committed to the island destination since 2005. “The signing of our annual agreement reassures us that, despite its small size, Seychelles remains a preferred partner for the airline. We have no doubt that with the airline’s continued support, our destination will remain accessible to all visitors.”

Since 2005, Emirates has been a significant contributor to the expansion of Seychelles’ tourism industry. With two daily flights to Seychelles, the airline remains the biggest airline carrier for the destination.
